1. Legal Notice

Eightyseven Outdoors is operated by Eightyseven Training Ltd - Registered Company Number: 13636876.

By using this website or booking an event or trip with us, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

You agree not to use this website for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

2. Eligibility

  • Trips are for adults only (18+).

  • You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking or attend an event.

3. Participant Requirements

  • Bring suitable clothing and equipment, including:

    • Sturdy, ideally waterproof hiking boots

    • Warm layers in winter

    • Lighter clothing in summer

    • Waterproof outer layer (no jeans)

  • It is your responsibility to arrive properly dressed and equipped. Participants deemed inadequately prepared may be refused participation without refund.

  • By booking, you agree to follow the event leader’s authority. The leader’s decisions are final. You may be asked to leave (without refund) if your behaviour or physical condition poses a risk to yourself or the group.

  • All participants must comply with local laws and regulations. Illegal acts may result in removal from the trip without refund.

4. Personal Responsibility and Insurance

  • Participation in activities such as hiking involves inherent risks you accept by joining.

  • You confirm you are medically fit to take part.

  • You are responsible for your own safety (e.g. near slippery surfaces, electric fences, barbed wire, cliff edges).

  • Do not bring valuables. Personal items are carried at your own risk. We are not responsible for loss, damage, or theft.

5. Medical Conditions

  • Ensure you are medically fit for your chosen trip.

  • Notify us in advance of any relevant conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, allergies).

  • If your condition may affect others’ safety, you must contact us before booking.

6. First Aid

  • All hikes are led by qualified Hill and Moorland Leaders and Outdoor First Aiders.

  • In a medical emergency, you consent to First Aid being administered by our leader or other qualified individuals.

  • You also consent to treatment from emergency services as deemed necessary.

7. Dogs

  • Well-behaved dogs are welcome on day hikes where possible - every event will state whether dogs will be allowed.

  • Owners must:

    • Keep dogs on leads around livestock, roads, cliff edges

    • Be fully responsible for their behaviour

    • Carry poop bags and dispose of them appropriately

  • Failure to comply may result in refusal of participation without refund.

8. Event Changes or Cancellations

  • Outdoor events are weather-dependent and may change or be cancelled for safety reasons (e.g. severe weather, flooding).

  • We reserve the right to:

    • Adjust itineraries, accommodation, leaders

    • Cancel events in force majeure circumstances (e.g. terrorism, natural disasters, epidemics, political instability)

    • Reschedule if attendee numbers do no meet the minimum requirement

  • If we cancel or postpone your event for such reasons (and you are not in breach of these terms), you can:

    • Transfer payment to another date/event

    • Receive a refund

  • We are not responsible for any non-refundable costs you have incurred independently (e.g. transport, accommodation).

9. Transport

  • Transport to and from events is not included.

  • You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements.

  • We are not responsible for third-party transport cancellations or changes. You must arrange alternatives if needed.

10. Selling your Ticket

  • You may sell your ticket to someone else (e.g. via our Facebook or WhatsApp group).

  • Notify us by email once you’ve sold your ticket, including the new participant’s name.

11. Booking on Behalf of Others

  • By booking for someone else, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for them.

  • You become the “lead name” and we will communicate only with you about changes or cancellations.

12. Images

  • By attending, you consent to Eightyseven Outdoors using photos of you for:

    • Website

    • Social media

    • Advertising and promotional materials

  • If you do not wish this, notify us in writing or by confirmed email within 10 working days of the trip.

  • We will always ask permission before resharing any photos posted in our private WhatsApp group.

13. Intellectual Property

  • All content, trademarks, logos, and materials on our website are our property and protected by law.

  • You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any content without prior written consent.

14. Liability

  • Eightyseven Outdoors is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

    • Use of the website

    • Participation in trips or events

    • Any other related factors

  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eightyseven Outdoors, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, actions, or demands (including legal fees) arising from your use of our website, trips, events, or breach of these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

  • Eightyseven Outdoors reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.

  • Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our site constitutes acceptance of these changes.

16. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.

  • Any disputes arising will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of UK courts.
